Serenity is the capitol city of the Magi. It is the oldest city in the Magi realm and still the largest. It has survived hundreds of years of war and has become the primary center of learning and government for the Magi people.

The Collector

The center of Serenity is built around a massive stone pillar that reaches well over one hundred feet into the sky. The edges of this pillar were likely carved and elegant at one point but time has not been kind to this structure that is all that remains of the past. This pillar however is far from a simple relic, it is forged of pure Aethersteel and is the largest single source of the material in known existence.

The collector provides a limitless supply of magical energies but like all Aethersteel it must purge itself on a regular basis. However with a source this large a special vent was designed by the original builders to purge the collector out a great distance from the city. A place commonly filled with Elementals.

The Great University of Serenity

Due to the massive influx of Aethers from the collector Serenity has never had a lack of magical energy at it's disposal. This has led to the formation of many magic schools of thought. These schools are all part of the Great University of Serenity.

Many of the Magi's greatest thinkers, Grand Mages, and Grand Scholars lead their own schools of thought and take Acolytes onto themselves to train and educate. Almost every noble or wealthy family member will find themselves training in Serenity at some point. Those who stay may eventually get involved in the cities politics, those who do not may join the Magi's home guard or return to their families estates with their newfound power.

The Grand Council

The Grand Council, the center of government for all of the Magi. The council is made up of Grand Mages from all of Serenity's schools as well as those who are assigned to govern the cities that bow to Serenity's will. These mages are led by an Arch Mage who controls the proceedings of the council and votes in the event of a deadlock.

The Grand Council chamber is found in the center of the city, under the Dome of Light. Concentric rings of benches rise above the main dais in the center, with balconies that overlook the assembly for any interested citizens to watch the proceedings.

Many say that 'Politics is the highest valued currency in Serenity', and a truer statement has never been said. Those who know how to play the game can in some senses of the saying 'Move Mountains'.
